The founder and chief executive officer of Rhonda’s Rainbow Family of Dance, Dr. Rhonda Cheri Darleen Bright has flourished in bringing dance into the lives of others since 1998. Led by Ms. Bright, the nonprofit hosts an enthusiastic community of swing and line dancers, creating opportunities to dance and promote physical and mental fitness. For the past 25 years, she has focused her efforts on organizing classes, workshops, dances, practice sessions and special events for students of all ages and levels in the Fayetteville, North Carolina area. Offering more than just the dancing, Ms. Bright feels honored to help heal people through dance mentally, physically and spiritually.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Bright worked within the mental health industry for three decades until becoming the program coordinator for the Easter Seals UCP of North Carolina and Virginia, where she served from 1994 to 2013. Simultaneously, she was also a medical records analyst for Evergreen Behavioral Management, Inc. between 2009 and 2011. Ms. Bright is also backed by an associate degree in medical office administration from Rutledge College, as well as an Honorary Doctorate.  

For her exemplary efforts, Ms. Bright was awarded The Keepers of The Culture Award in 2013, presented to her at the annual Red Ball in South Carolina. She was also the recipient of the Fayetteville-Cumberland County Human Relations Commission Humanitarian Award, Cumberland County Care Award, the Ester Dept and Mary McAllister Individual Award and a Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from President Biden. Actively involved in her community, she is a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Triple Nickel and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Looking ahead, Ms. Bright intends to pass on the blessings she has received in life, a philosophy instilled in her by her parents.
